Programme Requirements
Studying abroad is one of the parts of the EBSL learning experience our students most look forward to.
You will have an exciting choice of destinations for the two study abroad semesters needed to complete your degree.
During your Study Period Abroad (SPA), you will attend selected academic courses alongside native speaker students and, in most cases, take the same examinations as they do.
Depending on your choice of languages, it is likely
that your studies abroad will be done in the host language.
Study abroad is a highly demanding experience, and you will need to be well prepared before you go. To be eligible for study abroad, you must have successfully completed all of the core modules of your degree at Level 1 and Level 2. Of course, this includes the relevant language courses.
When and Where
Study Abroad takes place in semesters 4 and 5. You may complete two semesters at the same institution or select a different location for the second semester.
EBSL has carefully selected over 90 partner institutions on the basis of academic excellence as our study abroad partners.
These institutions are in countries ranging from Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Japan, Mexico, Russia and Uruguay to the USA, as well as many across Europe.

When the time comes to plan your study abroad, your university choice will be based on the language(s) in which you specialise, as well as on a close match between the specialist expertise of the host institution and your own developing career plan.
The International Partnerships Office will provide you with personal guidance to ensure that the most appropriate partner institution is selected for you.
Placement Learning Project
A popular alternative to an exchange programme is the placement learning project. Instead of undertaking two semesters of academic study abroad, you can spend one semester working, similar to an internship.
International Business students will be required to work in a foreign company, using the foreign language. International Events Management students who do not take a foreign language as part of the programme can work in an English-speaking company.
