Moscow House of MusicWhy Combine Russian and International Business?

Despite a turbulent transition from a planned to a market economy, Russia’s economy had been growing quickly until the global financial crisis struck in 2008.  However, the future still looks very bright for Russia and it is frequently referred to as one of four emerging economies known collectively as BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China).

Studying BA (Hons) International Business with Russian will provide you with the necessary business and language skills to take advantage of the enormous opportunities in what Goldman Sachs have claimed will be one of the four largest economies in the world by 2050.

How will my international business career benefit from my speaking Russian?

After the economic crisis that struck the former Soviet republics in the 1990s and the Russian financial crisis of 1998, the Russian economy enjoyed a decade of uninterrupted economic growth until the recent global financial crisis.  Greater political stability, increased foreign investment, higher domestic consumption and rising revenue from Russia’s oil and gas industry have all contributed to this strong economic performance.

Our BA (Hons) International Business with Russian will prepare you for an international business career, enabling you to make the most of business opportunities in Russia and among Russian expats around the rest of the world.  Your degree will incorporate two semesters overseas, where you will study international business in Russian at St Petersburg State University’s School of Management (No.2 in the Russian university rankings), Plekhanov Russian Academy of Economics (Moscow) or the Higher Commercial Management School (Moscow).

This time in Russia will ensure you graduate with advanced Russian language skills and an address book full of useful contacts in Russia, ready for when you graduate and start looking for a good graduate job.
