The politics of the Middle East in general and recent political events in particular have heightened the importance of studying Arabic. This integrated programme of Arabic and International Business is therefore growing rapidly in popularity among students looking to acquire Arabic proficiency, and who wish to gain hands-on experience in conducting business in the Arabic-speaking world.

The Arabic Language

Arabic is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world, with up to 300 million speakers. It is the dominant language in an area covering the whole of Northern Africa, the Arabian Peninsula and much of the Middle East. Arabic is the language of Islam; it is also the second language of millions of Muslims around the world.

International Business & Arabic Course Details

You will undertake around 7 hours of Arabic classes per week in the BA (Hons) International Business degree, taught by native Arabic speakers.

We teach Arabic from beginner level and no prior knowledge is required.

Study Abroad in Arabic Speaking Country

You will spend a study period abroad in an Arabic speaking country during which time you will take international business classes in Arabic; you will also have the exciting opportunity to complete work experience in the Arabic speaking world through arranging internships.
