Academic Requirements

For entry onto our BA programmes, students must have:

• At least five GCSE/IGCSE subjects or equivalent with grades A-C, including Maths and English, and
• Three A levels at minimum grade C or above*

* Please note that we may not accept an A Level if it is done in the student's native language, i.e. we would not accept an A Level in German from a German student.

Alternatively we can accept an A Level equivalent, or one of the following qualifications:

• American Advanced Placement Exams** - 3 subjects at grade 3, or 2 at grade 4
• Austrian Matura - grade 3 out of 5
• Brazilian Certificado de Ensino Medio - please see Foundation Requirements
• Bulgarian Matura - please see Foundation Requirements
• Chinese Secondary School Certificate - please see Foundation Requirements
• Colombian Titulo de Bachiller - please see Foundation Requirements
• Croat Matura - grade 4 out of 5 
• Cypriot Apolytirion of Lykeio - 17 out of 20
• Czech Maturita - overall grade of 2.5-3 
• Danish Bevis - grade 7 out of 12
• Dutch Havo - please see Foundation Requirements
• Dutch VWO - with grade 7 out of 10  
• European Baccalaureate - with 75% out of 100%
• Finnish Studetexamen - grade 5 out of 7
• French Baccalaureate with International Option - 13 points out of 20 including 12 points from English

• German Abitur - with 2.5 out of 4

• Greek Apolytirion of Lykeio - 17 out of 20

• Icelandish Stúdentspróf - grade 7 out of 10
• Indian Standard XII - 75% out of 100%
• International Baccalaureate Diploma - with 32 points out of 45
• Irish Leaving Certificates - 5 Higher Level subjects at grade B
• Israeli Bagrut/Mechina - 75 out of 100, or 7.5 out of 10
• Italian Maturità/Esame di Stato - with 75 out of 100

• Latvian Atestats - grade 8 out of 10
• Lithuanian Brandos Atestatas - grade 8 out of 10
• Luxemburg Diplôme de Fin d'Etudes Secondaires - grade 45 out of 60

• Moroccan Baccalaureat - please see Foundation Requirements
• Norwegian Vitnemål - with 4/5 out of 6
• Polish Matura (Swiadectwo Dojrzalosci) - 70% in all subjects with at least 3 subjects taken at extended/higher level
• Portuguese Certificado de fin de Estudios Secundários - grade 15 out of 20
• Romanian Baccalaureate - grade 8 out of 10

• Scottish Highers - 5 subjects at grade C
• Serbian Matura - grade 3 out of 5
• Slovak Maturita - grade 3 out of 5
• Slovenian Matura - grade 3 out of 5
• South African National Senior Certificate - 5 subjects at grade 5 or above
• Spanish Título de Bachillerato - with 7 out of 10
• Swedish Avgangsbetyg - with mostly VG and MVG grades

• Turkish Lise Bitimi Diplomasi - grade 3 out of 5

** Please note that we may not accept an AP exam if it is done in the student's native language, i.e. we would not accept an AP exam in German from a German student.

Note: Students applying with an American High School Diploma or similar 12-year secondary equivalent, e.g. HAVO, will normally be required to complete our one-year Business Foundation Course to satisfy the academic requirements for our BA (Hons) degrees.

The international grade requirements are provided as a guideline. The Regent's College Admissions Department retains the right to request specific grades at our discretion.
